Strike?

I think it would be very funny to witness someone come upon a closed subway station and shout out in the middle of a crowded sidewalk, "Transit strike?! What transit strike!!"

I would find this funny because that would mean not only did they go almost two entire days without noticing the transit strike, but went almost an entire month without hearing the rumblings about a potential transit strike.

As a result of my finding this funny, I have shouted "Transit strike?! What transit strike!!" in the middle of a crowded sidewalk several times in the past two days.

Wednesday true story: I was driving up Forest Av around 2PM, stopped at a red light and Ralph says, I wonder if she's waiting for a bus nodding to the woman standing at the bus stop. She really looked like she was and I laughed out loud. Ralph started to roll down the window and I thought, no don't do that. I didn't want to spoil the thought that someone could be that out of it. I didn't want Ralph to spoil the illusion by asking her.

But he did.

Good News: she WAS that out of it. When Ralph told her the buses weren't running she said, "they aren't?" Ralph told her they were on strike. She said, "they are?"

Oh thank you God. Thank you God. For keeping me entertained.
