MTV: Eschewing modesty, MTV touts the success of it's get-out-the-vote efforts. Is it just me, or is it still kind of sad that less than 50% of the "young voters" turned out?
Also, young voters is anyone under thirty? Since when has MTV cared about anyone over the age of 24? (Don't get me wrong, I still love MTV and watch it with an interest that borders on insanity.)
NY Times: At some point, I actually have to watch any of these Night of the Living Dead movies. But not with Chris. Chris is scared of zombies.
Cosmo Girl: Find out if it's really over! Hint: If you're taking a quiz on Cosmogirl.com, it's really over.

Whoa! Weird coinkyspank. I just watched "Night of the Living Dead" for the first time two days ago. It was really pretty interesting, mostly to see how much horror movies have changed in the last 35 years.
There is very little gore, but when it is used, it is EXTREMELY effective. Also, many of the zombies look completely normal, which is in a way more scary (and I guess, in another way, lame, one might argue).
George Romero had so many firsts with that movie, from the little I've read about it: first zombie movie, first black action hero, and probably some of the first non-sexual nudity in an American film, if I had to gues. There is a naked woman zombie, shown mostly from behind. I didn't personally think she was there for shock value, but more just to show that people die in lots of different ways, so it would only make sense that there would be the occasional naked zombie. One could argue that Romero didn't think things through that much, but he seems like a really bright guy, and he's had very clear sociopolitical agendas with all of his zombie movies.
It's really interesting to see the zombie lore develop in the first movie. This movie brings about the thing about shooting zombies in the head, but it doesn't have them saying "Brains." Anybody know what movie first had that?
Damn right I'm scared of Zombies. You know why? 'Cause they're fucking terrifying. I remember Geoff and Jerf were talking about the new "Dawn of the Dead" movie and it was making me really uncomfortable.
But yet, they're so funny at the same time.
I'm not really sure how those two feelings are related, and I'll probably remain unsure for a really long time. Most of my clearest self-epiphanies come to me at night, and as we all know, the worst time to think about Zombies is at night because that's when it's easiest for them to jump and you and cranialectisize you. So yeah, I don't plan on making any more self-discoveries in the zombie-department any time soon.
All I know is I REALLY want to see Shaun of the Dead and I REALLY DON'T want to see Shaun of the Dead.
God I hate myself so much.
For the record, I used to be afraid of zombies but not so much anymore after seeing the new "Dawn of the Dead" and "Shaun of the Dead". Not sure how I'll feel after seeing "Lawn of the Dead" or "Prawn Love A Head".
I'm still freaked out by vampires though.
