Okay, yes, file this under my constant ego trip, but I just found this review I wrote of The Faculty on the IMDB user boards:
"I'm as sick of these hyper-articulate teen movies as everybody else (even though I did really like Scream), but this movie really underplayed the whole hyper-aware talking thing and worked it into the characters and the plot. Instead, you get a really fun "theater" movie, i.e. the kind you really connect with the rest of the audience at. I don't scare very easily, but the movie made the Body Snatchers/Puppet Masters stuff feel fresh again. And, as opposed to Robert Rodriguez last film, From Dusk Till Dawn, this actually played down the gore (okay, there's still a lot, but it's more tasteful, if that's possible). The ads don't do this movie justice at ALL. In fact, for the first time in a long time, the trailers don't give away even 5% of the movie. Go see it now!"
Problem is, I NEVER wrote that review. Ever. There's no reason I would write that review, I didn't even really like "The Faculty." Also, at that point, I hadn't seen "From Dusk Till Dawn." Also, I don't post things on the internet. Just on the Elephant Larry website. And in Blogs. And some Amazon.com book reviews.
But not on IMDB!
Not that I care too much, since, at this point, I don't think I'm going to convince too many people to go see The Faculty. And, that's the only review I ever "wrote." But how freaky is it that some movie studio used my name to post up a review of a movie that I hadn't even seen at that point? Pretty freaky, I'll tell you that.
Also, in other news, starting November 17th, Target will arrange things so Darth Vader will wake you up early to remind you to go shopping.
