Okay, so this will eventually be a restaurant review on the main site, but I went to Ten 63, a local coffee shop to get some breakfast this morning.
In the interest of full disclosure, you should know that there's not a ton of restaurants near where I live. There's an Italian place, a French place, and a Chinese Place. However, there are about five or six different cafes that have opened in the past year. The best one, in my opinion, is Ten 63. It's very warehousey, supports local businesses, and the food is delicious.
So I got a mocha to start:
And Marni got a cup of coffee:
Marni is the one on the right, who's being sipped by a giant, human shaped cup of coffee.
Then, we got two sandwiches, and shared. I got the egg, cheddar, and arugula:
And Marni got the grilled cheddar with avocado:
We weren't planning on sharing, or I would have gotten a sandwich that wasn't exactly the same as Marni's sandwich. Actually, I really wish I had gotten the fruit and granola, because it looked awesome. I have no pictures of that.
Finally, here's the best part about Ten 63. There was a cafe near my work called The Blue Goose, which I loved, and hung out in all the time. Then they closed. And I cried.
Lucky me, the Blue Goose got their pastries from Tom Cat Bakery, a local Long Island City bakery that also sells to Ten 63! So I was able to get the absolute best brownie ever made this morning:
Wait, here's a close-up:
It's like biting into solid heaven, and swallowing delicious angels, and digesting God, or something.
And that's how I spent my morning the end.
