Worst EL Inside Joke Of All Time

So this past summer we had a lot of stuff going on. Specifically, we wrote and performed an all-original show (The Crime Machine), went to Portland, OR, and re-wrote and re-performed an old show as part of the Fringe Festival. When you work that hard you get HUNGRY.

During one of our long, long meetings preparing for one of those things I just listed (I think it was The Crime Machine), we got hungry. So we didn't lose any focus or momentum, we decided to order some pizza downstairs from a place called Freight. Many of us had gotten a slice or their "famous" Buffalo chicken sandwich there at one point or another, so we figured the pizza wouldn't be mind-blowingly bland and tasteless. Boy were we wrong! The Freight pizza was mind-blowingly bland and tasteless. I think we determined that it was the cheese's fault. There was something wrong with the cheese.

Anyway, the whole rest of the summer, whenever we got hungry and decided to order something, someone would always say "Let's order from Freight" or "We could try Freight" or "I hear Freight has good pizza." Isn't that hilarious? That is about the most tepid freaking joke you could possibly make. We weren't even self-aware about it. We were just all-out sarcastically pretending to order this pizza we didn't like. Ha Ha Ha.

Just to be fair, I should point out I made this lukewarm-tapwater joke more than anyone else in the group. That's because I'm insipid.

I don't get that place. The individual slices are fine and they have pretty decent sandwiches. But man oh man, those whole pies are just abysmal.

Though that "running joke" would taste just as bad if its hilarity were edible.

Though that running joke would taste just as bad if we could somehow transform its hilarity into edibility. Which we definitely shouldn't.
