So I'm kinda torn.
At first thought I think "Hey, I actually enjoyed that movie. I could've waited for video, but I'm glad I saw it." At second thought I think "I have to give this movie a fneh."
In the end, Closer does not get a fneh, because it just wasn't boring enough.
I think there were some patently ridiculous things about this movie, but ridiculous is practically the opposite of fneh. There were also some genuinely enjoyable performances and moments and scenes. Closer was more of a 7/10. That's pretty solid I'd say.
But one thing Closer did reaffirm was my lack of enthusiasm for Natalie Portman. I just don't get it.

This movie has been troubling me too. I ended up talking about it for a while last night after seeing it, though I'm not sure why 'cause I didn't really care about the characters or what happened to them.
From what I can tell...

I actually liked Natalie in this. My main problem was with Julia. A.O. Scott's review seems pretty dead-on.
And God forbid if you're dressed.
