I'm Insipid

I was buying some props just now at K-Mart for our show tomorrow (perhaps you've heard mention of this?) I saw that the security guard was checking receipts, so I irritatedly lashed mine out of my pocket, sending change flying everywhere.

The guard, whose accent seemed African, very wisely observed "Things fall apart."

I carefully considered his response. I thought of the social and economic implications of what he had just said in relation to the event that had just occurred. I formulated a response and finally wittily retorted, "Yeah."

I wish I had at least said "A Tale of Two Cities" or "The Fountainhead" or something.
