Trailer Friday

Pre-note: Its very hard to be snarky about good trailers, so this post is more informative than funny. Sorry about that.

Wedding Crashers - You know, I didn't want to like this, but we watched it at the EL meeting last night, and everybody laughed, several times. Barring yet another uncomfortable Ben Stiller cameo, this looks pretty funny.

Night Watch - I read about this movie a couple of months ago... Its the biggest film in Russia, ever. It has huge battles and special effects. And though it looks like a cross between Underworld, Hellboy, and Harry Potter, its supposed to be very good. Also, is it just me, or do Eurpopean movies constantly have goofy uses of special effects?

State Property 2 - Oh good. Here's a trailer for a gangsta drama that's cut like a comedy trailer. Also, I'll give five dollars to the first blog reader who actually saw State Property 1.

Save the Green Planet - Another foreign hit, more goofy genre bending. A man kidnaps his boss, who he thinks is an alien, and tortures him. Oh, Korean Filmmakers! Will you never stop torturing? I'm not sold, but again, its supposed to be very trippy and good.

Kingdom of Heaven - I seriously haven't been able to watch an entire trailer for this without falling asleep. Although, its nice to see that Orlando Bloom shoots arrows in every single goddamn movie he makes. Additionally, this Internet Exclusive trailer has won an award for the most awkward dialogue of the year. I'm pretty sure most of the lines were written by a five year old. Congratulations to Kingdom of Heaven!
