If Philadelphia Phillies 2B Chase Utley's 34 game hitting streak ends tomorrow, he will already have accomplished one important record: the longest hitting streak ever for a man with zero names.
Chase is not a name.
Utley is not a name.
According to New York's Hometown Paper, the only players who even come close are Paul Molitor with 39 games and Bill Dahlen with 42. But Molitor and Dahlen sound enough like names to me and Paul and Bill are obviously names.
This is probably the most impressive record I've witnessed since Tanyon Sturtze set the record for highest ERA by a player with zero names, then repeatedly broke it.

Nice try, Professor. But according to the Elias Sports Bureau, Fizzlebort Racecar hit safely in 42 consecutive games in 1912 while playing for the Cincinabber Jaysons.
