"Wild Hogs" Opening Weekend Projected Gross

Hey did anyone see the commercial for the new hit movie "Wild Hogs" during the Superbowl? If you did, you would have seen that it has an amazing cast, led by Tim Allen, William H. Macy, John Travolta, and Martin Lawrence.

Based on the opening weekend grosses of these mega-stars, we at the Elephant Larry Group Blog estimate that the March 2nd release of the movie will gross, in its first three days, no less than:

$227,754,232

This Spring, Get Ready to PIG OUT!*

*Is not the tagline for this movie.

[If you would like to check our work: Tim Allen was in "Toy Story 2;" William H. Macy was in "Jurassic Park 3;" John Travolta was in "Austin Powers in Goldmember;" and Martin Lawrence was in "Bad Boys 2." Game, set, and match.]

Marisa Tomei +$33,614,543 (What Women Want)

Ray Liotta +$58,003,121 (Hannibal)

This thing will be makin' the bacon (if only HE were in it, too!) to the tune of $3 billion+ on opening weekend.

I'm going to go the other way on this... I think that all the big-name stars will cancel each other out and Wild Hogs will take in a box office gross of 32$ on it's opening day. Sure, there will be an upswing on the first Saturday of its release (48$), but eventually, by Sunday, it will be pulled from theaters, failing to break the 100$ mark that you really have to meet if you want your film to be qualified as a success.
