jobbloggin'

So, as some of you may know (or possibly guessed due to Alex's post last week), I have a new job composing ringtones. It's basically a dream job for me, and I'm still in happy shock about having it.

My job is primarily to create polyphonic (cheesy MIDI synthesizer) ringtones based on pop songs by all of Sony's recording artists, both for new releases and older albums. Here are some of the songs I've been assigned so far:

Sexy Back - Justin Timberlake
Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves - Aretha Franklin
Dreamgirls - Beyonce
One Night Only - Beyonce
Que Hiciste - J-Lo

The Justin Timberlake one was particularly fun. It's really fun trying to translate Timbaland's music into ringtone language.

Anyway, I thought I might occasionally just post what songs I'm working on, mostly because it's fun trying to picture all these pop songs as MIDI ringtones.

Oh, and my next big project, which I'm super excited about: we're going to be making ringtones for the whole Konami family of video games! My first job will be making a Contra ringtone. Woo hoo! Doo doo doo doo DWEEE dah dah, doo doo doo doo DWEE dah dah. Etc.

Your new real dream job has knocked my fake dream job (working at the Laffy Taffy factory as a horrible joke writer. With my own office and everything!) out of the #1 slot.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
