Mandy Moore's "Umbrella"

To be perfectly honest, I've always wanted to see Mandy Moore cover a Rhianna song while trying to stuff a mic up her own nose.

Marni tells me this is a "thing;" meaning people doing non-ironic covers of "Umbrella."

Can somebody please explain this to me? Because I don't get it.
