Review of Minesweeper

Two recent efforts attempt to apply this truth to the historical narrative of World War II. The first, Ken Burns and Lynn Novick's The War, is a bloated, self-indulgent ramble that applies a pithy, red-white-and-blue tint to what we now know as a world war. Burns and Novick would do well to take a lesson from director Sam Reich, whose own effort, Minesweeper: The Movie is a shocking, incisive study, and certainly one of history's noblest efforts to paint the grim horrors of war upon the screen.
