MapQuest

Uh, yeah, so here's my latest obsession: a place-the-states-on-the-map game. Not cool, you say? Wait till you try it - it's way harder than you think, especially when you're given Wyoming and a blank map and you have to place it correctly.

It even gives you the average number of miles you've missed placing the states by.

In addition, I received this link in an e-mail with the subject "totally safe for work."

Thank you for that, Chris'n'Christophe. Your unique brand of same-name buffoonery is always welcome.

As for the actual map game, I got 47 right, but honestly it was more like 48, but I got kinda lax. Now that game thinks that I think the top third of North Dakota is in Canada. I'm so embarassed!

Yeah, I also found it pretty easy. I only "missed" 2...and those were ny a total of 25 miles...(Missouri on a blank screen was tough, here's a tip...follow the conours of the state with the borders...Ohio, Mississippi, all those are easy once you know this trick. Stefan is right though, landlocked states with no boredering help are the hard part. there is some "luck of the draw" to it...

Actually, it might not be totally safe for work. Not if you work at the GPS headquarters or Hagstroms and a superior is looking over your shoulder as you miss 35 of the 50 U.S. states and you're fired, not completely as a result of only getting 15 states, but it certainly didn't help keep you around when your annual review came up. That's a situation in that it would be only partially safe for work. I'm telling the truth here.

Okay: high score of 98% accuracy, 173 seconds w/ only 2 miles average error. Beat that! I know where the states go! I rule!
