So, the other night, I was watching a very emotional movie called "All the Real Girls." When the movie ended, I admit I was a little teary-eyed. But as I sat watching the credits, something caught my eye and immediately confused me. Toward the end of the actor's credits, there was a character listed as "Strong Bad." I did like five double-takes and totally freaked out and died.
Actually I just scrolled back my DVD and read the credits again. On second reading, it appeared that this character named Strong Bad who I definitely don't remember having any part in this heartfelt romantic drama was played by one Matt Chapman. I also saw someone named Mike Chapman listed as a graphic designer. Hmmmm...?
So apparently, the creators of Homestar Runner are friends with the film's director, David Gordon Green. Still, I couldn't remember any appearance of any Strong Bad-like person/cartoon. Apparently, the Chapman brothers (and also Missy, the voice of Marzipan) like helping out on his movies, and in this movie, Matt was an extra. But since he's a minor celebrity, they decided to break with tradition and give him a credit even though he had no spoken lines, and they named his character Strong Bad just to throw me off, along with maybe 5 other people who have rented this DVD and watched the credits. Hurmf.
