I think you've mistakenly posted a picture of the US Special Forces sent to Tora Bora.
Zing!
I can't freaking wait!
For some reason Martin/Arthur bashing his head on the ceiling really cracked me up.
Was anybody else a bit weirded out by how they handled Zaphod's extra head?
I'm half-tempted to go back and read the books again -- though I loved them SO much as a kid that I'm worried that I, as other Elephant Larries have expressed, will find the reread a little bit disappointing. Like seriously, these were some of my formative comedic influences.
I also would like to express a nostalgia for the days when I would be deeply affected by something enough to want to copy it wholesale. I wrote several short stories in the vein of Hitchhiker's guide. If I recall, they involved sentient liverwurst. Teacher liked 'em, anyway.
I actually re-read the third-fifth in the series about a year ago, and they were quite enjoyable. The third one (Life, The Universe and Everything) kept very well, which is most important because the original trilogy was better than the follow-ups. Anyway, it was very funny and entertaining to read. Huzzah!
That said, I am going to wait and see the movie before I re-read, so my expectations are a little blanker and I can just enjoy the movie for what it is.
