Is it just me, or does crazy stuff happen in Dubai? Specifically, they're going through an intense building phase, including plans for the world's tallest building, and a series of man-made islands called The Palm Islands. That's cause they're built in the shape of a palm frond.

That's pretty crazy, right? Wrong. Check this out:



That's The World, a cluster of 300 man-made islands made to look like, well, the map of the world. They are bordered to the "North" by a strip of land, and to the "South" by a breakwater.

Rumor has it that Rod Stewart has already bought the England island.
