Payas Club

Stefan swears he told everybody about this dude, but I don't remember so there you go.

There's this guy named Matisyahu, a Chassidic Jew who does reggae/rap. He's been around for a while, but is just releasing his first studio album. The first single, "King Without a Crown," is fantastic. Check out the video here:

It also makes me wonder: Do I think it's really cool because he's Jewish and I'm Jewish? Would I think he was dumb like Creed if it was another religion? Not sure. Anybody who's not Jewish care to help clarify?

Awesome! Now I know how to spell Payas.

Also, he's playing at Bonnaroo. Good lineup at Bonnaroo, and it would be fun to see him there...

I'm not a huge reggae fan, but the single and video are sweet. The coolest part is how the feeling of "Should this guy really be singing this genre?" melts away in about 8 measures.

Plus, he's got connections to White Plains, near Principe and Serico territory. Westchester in the hizzouse!
