+ boobs! Y'know, which is nice.
I liked playing "find the added r-rated scenes!" Cuz, they kinda stood out, which made me happy.
i especially enjoyed the Thursday night crowd -- about 6 minutes into the movie, some guy in the front yelled "shut the fuck up and get on the plane!" and the whole audience cheered. there was a bunch of applause for the first appearance of Sam J, and the first appearance of the Snakes, and the Plane.
i was reading a review that said the audience at another screening started hissing (like Snakes!) when there seemed to be too many previews. nice!
any other good audience particpation reports?
There was a little girl talking through the whole thing!
I should also mention that it was 11:00am on a Saturday morning.
And I was watching "Step Up."
There were two hispanic gentlemen behind me. One of them translated literally every line of the movie to the other one.
And, yet, somehow this didn't take away from my experience one bit. In fact, it might have improved it.
It's kinda like when I saw Rumble In The Bronx and the african-american women behind me felt it necessary to encourage Jackie Chan to kick the bad guys' asses at the top of their lungs. Oh, and also to watch out. And also to let Jackie and the rest of us know that indeed, no, they di'nt.
I count it among my favorite movie-going experiences.
Two comments stood out in our theater:
"This movie sucks!"
and
"Snakes On A Plane!"
They were both tremendously timed.
Things got a little bit *crazy* in our theater when the ushers released the snakes. But then they released (pretty quickly, I might add) the Samuel L. Jacksons and we were all cool again.
