Things That Are Great About Demolition Man

...which I'm watching right now:

  • Sylvester Stallone's character, who is a lone, warrior cop, is named Spartan.
  • Wesley Snipes character, who is "reborn" from cryo-statis, is named Phoenix.
  • The writers of this movie had the foresight to believe that, in 1993 when the movie was released, in less than three years (1996), we would have wide-spread cryo-prisons fitted with behavior modification.
  • Though passed off as a "hilarious" joke at Stallone's expense, the movie correctly predicted that Arnold Schwarzenegger would enter politics, saying that he was elected president after passing the 61st Amendment. Cheers to you, Demolition Man!

I'll keep adding more as they occur to me.

my memory says this line was in the film:

"in the future, all restaurants are taco bell"

is this true?

Oh yes. In fact, Taco Bell won the "Fast Food Wars." And they go out to a fancy dinner at Taco Bell.

i don't know if i can suspend my disbelief enough to be sanguine about the fact that john spartan knit sandra bullock a cabled sweater overnight. everything else i'm pretty much fine with.

also, i'm pretty sure to positive that taco bell won the "franchise wars".
