One And A Half Years Late

One of my favorite parts of the 2006 World Series, was that every time Cardinals' pitcher Jeff Suppan would get two strikes on a batter, the St. Louis faithful would yell his nickname in unison:

"Soooooooooooooooooooooooup! Soooooooooooooooooooooooup!"

I think cheering the word soup at the top of your lungs is ridiculous.

Would you like this concept explained for you at length, so that its ridiculousness is completely nullified? Then go to this wikipedia page!

What's more interesting is how the yelling has changed, almost imperceptibly, from "Soooooooup!" to "Booooooooo!"

I'd just like him to get past the sixth inning sometimes, is all.
