In the spirit of strangely themed board games...
Earlier this week at Barnes & Noble, I stumbled upon a new edition of Trivial Pursuit: The Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit Movie Trilogy Collector's Edition.
Quite the mouthful, no? Being the Silmarilian-reader I am (sigh), I immediately picked up the box and read the back. The best part has to be the specially designed topics. They include: Good, Evil, Things, Places and History, Warfare and Making Movies. I'm not totally sure how the commas divvy up the categories, but nonetheless, it's definitely consistent with any sane person's taxinomical view of the world.
One shelf over, they also had The Lord of the Rings Checkers Collector's Edition.
That's right. Checkers. According to the game-makers, this is your opportunity to crown yourself "King," destroy The One Ring and save middle-earth in a game as classic as the battle of good and evil. 'Cause nothing says "epic battle" like...um...checkers.
In related news, a recent survey lists Barnes & Noble as one of the hottest places for young New Yorkers to pick up awesome new Lord of the Rings products. Yeah!

I'm anxiously waiting for Lord of the Rings Movie Trilogy Special Edition UNO. You must eleminate the One Ring as well as the One Card. I wonder how you say 'one' in Elvish?
Funny story about that Barnes & Nobles "article." Its actually an AD for Barnes & Nobles, that was formatted like an article, and printed in several major newspapers, stating that B&N was one of the hottest places to meet singles.
Also, Chris linked to an article about the Bicycle Protest. Merry Christmas, CHRIS.
No! It was the correct link before! I swear!!!
Goddamn time and websites being updated with the passing of that time damnit.
