This is why my profession scares me sometimes. This happened today:
Co-Worker 1: So when is your last day?
Co-Worker 2: November 10th.
Supervising Psychiatrist: (matter-of-factly. No, much stronger than that. Unbelievably confident in what he is about to say. Cocksure, about something as ridiculous as a date) That's three weeks from today. (self-assured smirk)
All: Yes, yes. (pause)
Co-Worker 3: Three weeks from yesterday.
Supervising Psychiatrist: (annoyed) Well yeah.
Obviously it's not a huge deal. But it's kind of bothersome someone who is so clearly conceited (and subsequently wrong) about simple addition is allowed to prescribe medication.
I hope it's clear I don't like this guy.
