Line of The Con

For me, the line of this year's San Diego Comic-Con was at the Futurama panel, which was AMAZING, btw. An audience question was "How do you come up with the voices?" which seemed trite, but led to about a 30 minute answer from all the panelists, and was fascinating and amazing.

However, the one thing that made me laugh more than anything else was Maurice LaMarche, who does the voices of Lrrr, Morbo, Kif, Calculon, and a million others, describing the difference between doing Morbo's voice and Lrrr's:

Maurice LaMarche (in Morbo's voice): "Morbo is just like Lrrr, except with BETTER DICTION... BECAUSE MORBO IS A NEWSCASTER!"

the only thing sadder than voice-over actors being forced to "do the voice" in public (i'm sure some of you saw the 'inside the actor's studio' with the simpsons cast, and watched them squirm) is when the actors ENJOY doing the voices in public, and do so unprompted.

unless you're they guy that did JarJar...then you should ONLY talk like that. HILARIOUS!

WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY.

@anonymous: Normally I would 100% agree with you, but in this case, their joy at being able to do the show, and their love of the writers and the writing was infectious.

I actually started out saying in my head "oh man, they're quoting their own stuff?" but by the end, I was loving it along with everyone else.

Sometimes (only very occasionally), non-irony is a very good thing.
