Man, this movie is starting to not look fun to me at all:
Hey, let's all grab some popcorn and watch a realistically filmed movie about New York being destroyed! Yay!
I wonder if they pitched this as, "Yes, but what if 9/11 was caused by monsters?" And everybody was all like, "Mmm, thought provoking." And then they made it.

B-but...J.J. Abrams!
Don't get me wrong, I love the Abrams, and will probably see it. This latest commercial just struck me about how inherently upsetting the idea of it is.
Hmmm. I'm actually a sucker for New York being destroyed, which is why I liked those parts of I Am Legend so much...I tend to think that I will die in some New York catastrophe at some point, so maybe that's why I'm fascinated with it? I'm quite excited for Cloverfield.
I also loved United 93.
